Getting away is surely a luxury in this world, and one that should be thoroughly revered & enjoyed. Growing up, my family had not the means for such things as air travel, and despite this I can still recall as vividly as yesterday the many exciting road trips we took as kids, and think to how they must have saved my parents from going crazy at home with the four of us rambunctious island ragamuffins.
A change of scenery allows for regular life to be viewed differently, and from a totally fresh and new outside perspective. Have you ever had that wonderful and insightful feeling of being on the outside of your life looking in? I often get this opportunity on a long walk or run, but there are no words to describe the feeling of stepping out for a time to reflect, and rest, and be.
It really is a paradise, isn’t it? Surprised you all came back home ;-).

Hey Anna! So happy to hear! I love that shot too – it was taken with my regular lens that came with my camera (a Canon Rebel). I think it turned out so well since I caught him actually laughing – he’s usually terrible at having his photo taken!
